Bathurst Regional Council awards Solgen Energy contract for Water Filtration Plant
Bathurst Regional Council has awarded Solgen Energy a contract to design, engineer and install a 50kWp photovoltaic solar power system at their Water Filtration Plant.
Bathurst Council is joining the constantly growing number of Councils to switch to solar power to produce renewable energy for self-consumption. Despite still having to pull electricity from the grid, the solar power system will cover a significant part of the Water Filtration Plant’s electricity usage. Bathurst Council is hence reducing the amount electricity required from the grid and reducing their electricity bill.
Bathurst Regional Council has selected BenQ Mono 320 SunForte High Efficiency panels for their solar electric system which is expected to generate around 83Mwh per annum. The 56 modules will be arranged in 3 arrays. In addition to saving money on electricity, the entire solar power system will reduce t the Water Filtration Plant’s carbon emission by approximately 89 tonnes of Co2 per year.
