Solgen Energy has wrapped up yet another successful year, allowing for businesses, local councils, schools and government entities alike to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, offset CO2 emissions and save money on their energy bill.

Installing one of Australia’s first commercial PPA solar power systems at Tyrrell’s Winery

Sunlease, a Solgen Group company, completed a 350kW solar photovoltaic installation at Tyrrell’s Winery, designed and constructed by Solgen Energy.

For Tyrrell’s Winery CEO, Bruce Tyrrell, installing the split roof and ground mounted 350kW solar power array under a Power Purchase Agreement was an obvious answer to their high energy consumption, “Through a purchase power agreement I did not pay any up-front fees for the installation of the system.

I can also look forward to paying a fixed amount per kWh for the winery’s energy consumption for the next 20 years. In my view, this is a stable opportunity for the business,” Tyrrell said.

The 350kW solar power system will generate approximately 563 MWh of renewable electricity generated per annum for the family owned business.

As one of the first commercial solar power purchase projects, it is major milestone in the development of renewable energies in Australia, and will also reduce the facility’s carbon emissions by 490 tonnes per year.

Asian United Food Service – 400kW solar power solution in NT’s cyclone area

se-asian-united-food-service-400kw-nt-solar-photovoltaic-array-aerial-shotSolgen Energy constructed this solar power system for Asian United Food Services in accordance with the building standards required for the cyclone affected Northern Territory which required the system to withstand a wind speed of up to 125 – 164 km/h.

The entire system is also independently certified by structural engineers to ensure it can withstand these extreme conditions.

The zero export requirement set by the utility provider enabled Solgen Energy to utilise its in-house designed, and Northern Territory approved, Sol-0-X control system to ensure the system met the non-exporting requirements of the utility.

Mater Dei School Unveils Solar Investment

Utilizing state of the art Trinasmart solar panels, in conjunction with standard Trina Honey panels, Solgen Energy created a tailored solar power solution that allows the system to be unaffected by shading from surrounding areas, in particular the prominent heritage listed gumtree situated at the front of the building, whilst also catering for optimal solar power generation.

The solar power system for Mater Dei, an organization that provides early intervention therapy services, education and residential programs for children and young people with intellectual disabilities, will offset a significant proportion of the costs associated with keeping their hydrotherapy pool heated.

Federal Member for Macarthur, The Hon. Russell Matheson MP shared his enthusiasm with the successful completion of the solar power project, “…solar panels installed by Solgen Energy will provide enough power to maintain a pool temperature of up to 30 degrees whilst cutting electricity costs for the school and reducing the environmental impact of heating the hydrotherapy facility. This will benefit generations of students and help the school’s bottom line to the tune of $40,000/yr, which is the equivalent of having the funds to pay for an extra teacher 2 days per week.

We Marched – People’s Climate March

At the end of November, prior to the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris, 785,000 individuals from over 175 countries (including 140,000 from Australia alone) took to the streets to make our collective voice heard, signifying the end of the coal era.

2015 has ended on a high for the global renewable energies movement thanks to the outcome of the COP21 Paris Agreement; an agreement 6 years in the making, more than 190 countries committing to keep global temperatures below a 2°C rise since pre-industrial times.

The message from COP21, and the People’s Climate marches that preceded it, has been heard loud and clear, now what’s left is to pave the way for a cleaner economy through government policy and support around the world.

Sunshine Spells Pentair – 270kW Branded Design

2015-pentair-270kw-solar-power-system-cs-solgen-energy-3For Pentair, combining renewable energy solutions such as wind and solar power together with other environmentally friendly measures has resulted in greater energy efficiency leading to more overall energy conservation and a drastically reduced carbon and water footprint on a global scale across their enterprise.

Solgen Energy’s installation of a large scale 270kW solar power system on the roof of their Milperra facility in Sydney further increases their sustainability initiatives in Australia.

In addition, as part of their brief they requested their corporate name to be spelt out in solar panels. The branded solar array spans 75 metres and utilises a total of 92 panels. This installation is sure to put the Pentair name on the map!

Adelaide Airport – Australia’s Largest Airport Rooftop Solar Installation

aal-aerial-shotAdelaide Airport recently awarded Solgen Energy the 1.17MW solar power installation on the short term multi-storey car park rooftop at Adelaide Airport Ltd (AAL).

This expansion of Adelaide Airport’s existing 114kW solar power array will take their total capacity to 1.28MW, and is expected to offset 100% of the car park’s electricity, if not more.

The Solgen Energy team are hard at work and construction work has begun with the installation set for completion in mid-2016.
