What are the conditions for a thriving international solar industry? Advancement and relationships, integration, technology? Whatever it might be, it was occurring at Intersolar and EES Europe 2016.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the leading exhibition for the solar industry and partners Intersolar, took place late June in Munich and Solgen Energy Group CEO David Brown and Executive General Manager of New Ventures Joe Coco attended.

Over 1,077 exhibitors from 43 countries presented their innovations to around 43,000 visitors from 160 countries over the four days. David Brown commented on this exciting convergence. “The Intersolar experience was unbelievable. The quality of exhibitors across the conferences were fantastic both in presentation and offerings,” Brown said.

“Joe and myself met with many of our suppliers and partners. Some of our partners are launching new products over the next three to six months; products that are getting smaller in size but bigger in power. There is also a design focus across new products – a different or new aesthetic that we will see develop further.”

“Much of the market is also moving towards whole-of-home and business energy management systems, which is really exciting for us. At the parallel EES Europe exhibit, where the focus was on batteries and energy storage systems, we saw some exciting developments in the works. Lots of battery alternatives, some from well-known brands for example Mercedes Benz but importantly, consumer-focused developments that our audiences will benefit from.”
