We just wanted to tell you how happy we are with our solar power system. It was so much easier than we thought it would be, everyone at Solgen Energy was polite, friendly, and experienced. We are so happy that we are helping to reduce greenhouse emissions in Australia. We received our first bill and found a 30% saving as estimated on our initial contract.

Due to the required cooling of the CH2 facility to ensure an internal temperature of 25oC is not exceeded, a solar PV system was warranted investigation as a solution to reduce electricity usage and demand costs. As a result, Australand undertook detailed investigations of a solar PV solution for the CH2 facility. The drivers were predominantly to reduce electricity usage and demand costs and provide a hedge on future electricity price increases.

With the works being undertaken on a fully occupied public use building, strict maintenance of the construction safety plan and associated traffic management controls was critical in the completion of the works. At all times Solgen Energy as Principal Contractor maintained the documented safety measures and demonstrated the level of skill expertise required to complete works of this nature, and achieve a tight program whilst surrounded by the general public.

Solgen Energy’s installation of solar panels provides a great opportunity for education concerning renewable energy sources. Solgen Energy was efficient and professional and kept the school informed at each stage. We are all excited about the potential for and students and for the school.

From the outset, we were very confident that Solgen Energy was the best choice for our project. The site assessment and subsequent proposal was comprehensive and focused. Menai High School took the opportunity to demonstrate commitment to teaching sustainability principles by ensuring that we practice them in our day to day operations. Council has been keen to demonstrate strong leadership in responding to climate change and has been installing solar systems, both hot-water and photovoltaic panels for some years. This has culminated in the completion of this 36 kilowatt PV system at our Works Depot which now gives us 48kW installed on Council sites – a great example for our community and local government around Australia.
